Any elementary teacher focuses on reading and language skills, even in content areas. I achieve this by using Readers' Theater and Novel Units. My Readers' Theater scripts and activities not only engage students but give them fluency and comprehension practice, too. By using novels in my classroom, I can make cross-curricular links, and engage my students in a variety of discussion, comprehension, and writing activities. Everything is included — lesson plans, student journals, anchor charts, chapter questions, a book project, and tests. When we finish a readers' theater or a novel, my students can't wait for the next one!
