I love seeing my students apply what they learn in fun and interactive ways. The escape room is a competitive and engaging way for students to review subject-verb agreement rules in a variety of sentences. The activity can be used with or without technology. The speed date debate asks students to debate claims from Romeo and Juliet — using textual evidence — against their classmates in short bursts of time. The activity requires insight and critical thinking into themes and character motivations and can be used after each act of the play.
