Explore Women's History Month Through STEM Read Alouds
"This month, don't just teach about women's history. Invite students into a story with STEM!" say Carly and Adam. "Build a lunar lander to help Apollo astronauts land on the moon with Margaret Hamilton. Write and decipher binary code with Grace Hopper. Engineer a plane to fly around the world with Amelia Earhart." And much more!

Hands-on, authentic, and cooperative learning experiences are an essential part of daily teaching and learning in my second grade classroom. One of my primary goals as a Teacher-Author is to make these experiences accessible and easy for teachers to implement. I often hear teachers say that hands-on activities require too much prep work or are difficult to manage. I hope that by sharing my ideas, I can help to make it easier for teachers to bring engaging activities to their students. I believe students learn best when they are having fun!
