As a bilingual school-based speech therapist, most of the students on my caseload are bilingual/English Language Learners in a high poverty area in New York City. I strive to best support my students in the classroom using culturally and linguistically appropriate resources and activities. I take a holistic approach to prepare them to be successful learners. Although my students are labeled as "speech and language impaired," they often have a lot to say... we just have to listen!
