Teacher Voices: On Building Inclusive Classrooms for All Students

I am a 7th grade math teacher in Northern Virginia. My dream to be a teacher started way back in elementary school, but my love of middle school began when I was in middle school. Like many kids, middle school was off to a rocky start for me. However, the moment I stepped foot in Mrs. Parker's classroom, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the rest of my life: MATH! Mix together SASS and ENERGY and you have my teaching style. Many kids walk into a math classroom defeated from past experiences. But I want to change that! My classroom runs on enthusiasm, fun, and a lot of laughter (with a touch of a hot mess)! My goal each day is to make my students love math just a little more than they did the day before!
