Teaching secondary mathematics can be both rewarding and challenging! In my classroom, I use fun repetition rather than relying on traditional techniques to teach my students. Every day is something different: jokes or brain puzzles as warm-ups, drill and practice on individual student whiteboards, partner activities, coloring activities, a wall of fame, foldables, group activities, cut and paste activities and more. Learning math does not have to be boring! Making math fun and varied helps students believe that learning math is enjoyable, interesting and exciting! In addition, I believe that to truly learn and understand math, it should be as hands on and real-life as possible. So, I love to heighten my students' awareness of math around them with project-based assessments! These make a great alternative to the traditional assessment and are great for distance learning!
