Inspired by my own interests as a learner with college degrees in art and chemistry, I frequently use cross-curricular resources to spark learning in my middle school science classroom. My resources intersect language arts, science, math, social studies, and engineering standards. Using cross-curricular resources such as discussion cards, students can practice speaking and listening standards while debating common science misconceptions. Learning to use reading skills, such as cause and effect, while reading non-fiction texts based on science standards provide an efficient and engaging experience for all learners. My cross-curricular resources can support deeper learning in your middle school science classroom! |
